Breech-loading rifle with octagonal barrel, all calibres
Peter Hofer Ischlerstutzen
6.5x65R
The Ischlerstutzen was originally created fort he Emperor Franz Josef and his brother the Archduke Johann.
The specifications of this unique rifle, which is equipped with only one barrel and can be loaded with only a single bullet, were a deliberate turn to a more humane kind of hunting and respect towards wild creatures.
Guests on royal hunts were permitted only two bullets each to allow the hunted game a real chance for survival.
With its lavish forms handcrafted out of a massive steel block, the Ischlerstutzen remains a very popular weapon after 160 years.
Designed and handcrafted by Peter Hofer - Austria
