Special sidelock double barrel rifle

cal. 22/22 Hornet

The smallest double barrel rifle of its kind which was ever built worldwide

The side lock frame was worked from blanks to create such a small form. Specially manufactured side locks had to be made, which had to be carefully designed, so as to leave as much space as possible for proper engraving. Normal size sidelocks have visible screws which would have reduced the space for engravings, so we had to develop a sidelock with invisible screws, which was made from full material.

The result was the most delicate side by side rifle which ever was built.

System Peter Hofer side lock with catch bar and double under locks lung and Purdey lock, ejector. Peter Hofer special bolsters. Multi level shell shaped external receiver patterns underline the outstanding character of this very fine rifle.

New Development: We have developed sidelocks, worked out from the full material, all lock-parts are built on the inside of the plate. The normally seen screws and pins are hidden, therefore there is more space for the engraving and secondly we could make the sidelocks smaller.
Another new development: Through a special construction we could fix the sidelocks without screws. That means, on this newly developed double barrel rifle, no screws are visible on the whole sidelock area. The sidelocks become narrow at the stock, therefore the stock could be worked out much more slender.

Extended break down frame disk, which will be worked-in over the stocknose as reinforcement. Extended trigger guard which reaches up to the metal pistol gripcap.

2 double pull triggers with sliding safety on the break down frame.
Fine ejector front piece, special construction as purdey fore end with button.
Barrel material Böhler Superblitz (steel with highest strenght.)

Custom made stock: Worked out of very fine Circassian  walnut to form a delicate and very elegant stock. This stock contains all the very complicated mechanics in the smallest space imaginable.

Engraving: According to the wishes of the customer who ordered this rifle as part of a set, a fifth engraving was created which is on all the guns of the set.
